Giving Tuesday for Journeys

As you may know, Journeys Lutheran School has been renovating our chapel to prove a space that is central to the Christ-centered identity and outreach of our school.

We have received tremendous support for the first phase of our project which included major renovations to the infrastructure of the space. The second phase of the project is arguably the most important - to create a space that is flexible and inviting for a range of uses both for our students and surrounding community.

Giving Tuesday is on November 29th, and we will be asking our community to come together to raise $40,000 to purchase chairs, tables and other furnishings to create an inviting space that accommodates the unique needs of our students.

It’s more than…

The new chapel will have an improved sound system and acoustics that are designed so every person can participate, and individuals with sensory issues can comfortably enjoy the space. The furniture we purchase will allow for flexible seating and various configurations.

Imagine the possibilities!

  • Students can gather for chapel to know and worship God

  • Chairs and tables can be easily moved to allow for students to participate in yoga for a lesson in mindfulness

  • A community space can be created for students with special needs to hold meetings

  • Families come together for a fun family night out that incorporates the therapy rooms with the chapel

  • Seating can be set up in the round so a student’s family can join them for their baptism

  • Community groups utilize the chapel for presentations and meetings

  • Teachers and staff gather for professional development, planning, prayer, and community building

  • A special place to host our school events, fundraisers, presentations, and special programming
